Sea World Orlando is no mere aquarium – focusing on up close and personal interaction with dozens of species of sea animals, the park seamlessly combines education and entertainment. From nearly a dozen live shows to real hands-on interaction with some of the animals and their trainers, park visitors will get a first hand view of some of the world’s most magnificent creatures, and learn about their habitats and how to help preserve them. But don’t worry! The parks feel anything but “educational.” Alongside the majestic sights of killer whales and dolphins are plenty of super-soaker roller coasters and other family rides, kid-friendly comedy shows, an extensive Mediterranean style shopping area, and gourmet restaurants to satisfy even the pickiest theme-park goer.

Of course, the animals are never far – some of the restaurants even overlook (or are directly underneath!) killer whale and shark tanks. In addition to the live shows, there are more traditional aquarium-style tanks where you can get an even closer look at manta rays, penguins, sea lions, dolphins, killer whales, and even sharks, which swim right over head! If you or your kid love the ocean or any of it’s creatures, this park is sure to please, with enough attractions for a very full day (or two, if you’re a real fan of marine life). A handful of the rides are better suited to slightly older children (think four feet and up), but everything else in the park is perfectly suited to kids (and inner children!) of all ages.

Hours:

The park opens at 9 am year round, but closing time varies seasonally. Usually around 6pm in the winter, but much later in the summer and on holidays.

Admission:
Adult (10+) – $81.99
Child (3-9) – $73.99
Child (2 and under) – Free
(hint: if you plan to be in the area for a while, shop multi-park tickets for a better deal)

How Much Time To Spend There:
One very full day, or two if you want to be sure not to miss anything. Check the schedules for the shows you want to see the day before you go so you know where you need to be and when to see everything you want.
